Okay, so when I get an idea in my head I pretty much obsess about it until I come up with a solution as to how I can get what I want. The latest idea? I want to buy a house (or apartment) by my 21st Birthday. And because I can smell your doubt from here, I'm going to tell you how I'm going to make this happen.
(If you can't be bothered listening to my maths, please skip the below and just admire the upside-down house)
To buy a house I would need to:
-Work a full time job (in retail) for a year and a half
-Get an annual salary for said job of 45-50k
-A 45-50k annual salary gets you a $500,000 loan from the bank
-You also need a 10-20% deposit up front (about a year's salary)
I think that's right..
Have I lost you yet?
Basically I would have to work 5 days a week until I save up $50,000.
After that monthly payments are only around $1,500
All I know is, I'd rather be paying money towards a home loan than wasting it on rent.
Okay, so I'm a little ambitious.
Can I do it? Maybe. I figure even if I fall short I've achieved something, right?
But it IS possible to buy a house by the time I'm 21 and for now that's good enough for me.
